2010 Season News
Daniel Island @ Parkshore: 286 DI, 251 PKS
Although the Piranhas suffered thier first defeat on Thursday night, their resolve and love of the sport was not shaken. Many of the races between the two teams were extremely close, and the Piranhas continued to battle back throughout the meet. Most impressive were the 13-14 and 15-18 girls and boys free relay who swam their hearts out, knowing that the meet was already lost.
Newington @ Parkshore: 332 PKS, 205 NEW
The Piranhas swam to thier first victory on Tuesday, June 8 against the Newington Tiger Sharks. The Piranhas took first in all the relays and most of the individual events. Many swimmers had personal bests for the season.
The Piranhas also kicked off thier Big Swimmer/ Little Swimmer buddies at this meet. Everyone seemed to enjoy cheering for thier older and younger swim buddy! Great job Piranhas!
The Piranhas are busy preparing for thier next meet against the Daniel Island Flying Fish on Thursday, June 10th!

The Coaching Philosophy of the Parkshore Piranhas Staff:
We intend to provide instruction, motivation, challenges and fun in a sport that can be enjoyed for a lifetime. We try to teach not only swimming skills, but also skills such as teamwork, self-discipline, and goal setting. We strive to maintain a balance between participation and team success. We realize that winning is not the most important thing; however, personal and team success can be incredible motivators. We try to help swimmers set individual goals, and to set new ones when those goals are reached. We encourage each swimmer to view every practice or meet as a chance to become a better swimmer than the day before.
